Spotlight on Our Sponsors: Win a Fantastic Cheese Hamper from Wyke Farms

Here at the International Cheese Awards, we’re lucky enough to have a whole range of amazing sponsors, and this month we’re taking a closer look at one of our original key sponsors, Wyke Farms. We’re pleased to say that they continue to support us to this day – read on to find out more about them and for your chance to win a lovely hamper full of their delicious products.

Farmhouse Cheddar Since 1861
Somerset-based cheesemaker Wyke Farms have a long and proud history of dairy farming which can be traced right back to 1861. Best-known for their Cheddar, their cheese is still made to grandma Ivy Clothier’s recipe in the heart of the Somerset countryside and is both award-laden and a UK best-seller as well as being sold across the world. They also take great care to minimise the impact of their business upon the environment thanks to their “100% Green Initiative”, meaning that in 2013 Wyke became one of the first UK food brands to be entirely self-sufficient in green energy. In other words, we can all enjoy their cheese knowing that they are working with the countryside rather than against it!

Award-Winning Product Range
The Wyke Farm range of Cheddar cheeses includes Mature, Extra Mature and Vintage, as well as Somerset Old Smokey – Cheddar which has been matured for 12 months and then smoked with Thatchers Heritage Somerset cider for 16 hours, and which deeply appeals to my roots as a Somerset girl! The range also includes salted and unsalted butter, and a lower fat Cheddar alternative with 90% extra cholesterol (meaning you can surely have another slice or two). All of these can be purchased via the Wyke Farm website with free UK delivery, or via a number of major supermarkets including Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and Tesco. Or you could have a go at winning some…
