Results Round-Up July 2018 – Belton Farm Scoop Supreme Champion for their Cheshire Cheese at ICA2018

This year’s judging, trade and press day at the world’s biggest and best cheese awards has proved to be another memorable day.

Once again, anyone who’s anyone in the dairy industry descended on Nantwich in Cheshire to take part in our annual celebration of the very best cheesemakers and dairy producers from across the world.

Around 300 experts and professionals from the dairy world donned their white coats and began testing the thousands of entries at 9am, a process that takes most of the morning and wouldn’t be possible without the help of our brilliant stewards. A total of 5,183 entries were judged over a period of five hours, with the Supreme Champion decided on at 1.34pm – our earliest ever decision! The results of all that deliberation were announced at the end of the Trade Day Lunch, once again sponsored by Joseph Heler, and attended by dairy professionals from all over the world. This year’s Supreme Champion and winner of the Westminster Cup for 2018 was Belton Farm for their Cheshire, and Reserve Supreme Champion was awarded to Arla Foods Lockerbie – the first time a reduced fat Cheddar has featured amongst the big winners. Overseas Supreme Champion went to Lustenberger und Durst, with Overseas Reserve Champion going to Clark Gemini International for their Gorgonzola.
