Press Release March 2014: Full Chef Line-Up Announced for the 2014 International Cheese Awards

With the 2014 International Cheese Awards now just a few short months away, we are pleased to announce the full line-up of chefs appearing at this year’s show.

James Martin

James is one of Britain’s best-loved chefs, easing us into the weekend on BBC1’s Saturday Kitchen and proving that there really is no-one better at cooking on live television whilst talking to camera. As well as appearing regularly on screen, James also makes time to head up the kitchen at Malton’s Talbot Hotel, and last year opened James Martin Manchester in the 235 Casino in the city centre. James is a familiar face at the International Cheese Awards and always goes down a storm – we look forward to welcoming him back.

Will Holland

It’s also a return appearance for Will Holland, who made his debut at last year’s show. Formerly head chef at La Becasse in Ludlow, Will was awarded a Michelin star in 2009 at the age of just 29 but left in 2013 to pursue pastures new. After much anticipation, Will is all set to take up the role of head chef at Coast, a new beachside restaurant in the beautiful Pembrokeshire resort of Saundersfoot. He is a regular guest chef on Saturday Kitchen and was the central region champion on the BBC’s Great British Menu.

Jonathan Harrison

Completing our line-up for 2014 is Jonathan Harrison, chef patron of The Sandpiper in Leyburn, a beautiful 17th century inn which Jonathan has run with his wife Janine since 1999. He was awarded the Roux Scholarship in 1993 and went to Alain Ducasse in Monte Carlo, a stint which contributed to his appointment as Chef de Cuisine at Birmingham’s only 5 star hotel. He has continued to gather plaudits since opening The Sandpiper, including Yorkshire Life Dining Pub of the Year. This will be Jonathan’s first appearance at the International Cheese Awards, and we can’t wait to see what he plans to cook up for us.

Tickets on Sale from 1st April

Tickets for this year’s show will go on sale to the general public via the International Cheese Awards website on the 1st April. With last year’s show attracting nearly 30,000 visitors despite apocalyptic weather, we’re expecting a huge demand for this year’s show day on Wednesday 30th July.

If you are able to help spread the word about this year’s show, please feel free to share this information on your blog or website, or via twitter using the hashtag #ICA2014 and copying us in @icheeseawards.
