International Cheese Awards Press Release September 2016: 10,000 Twitter Followers, and Looking Ahead to 2017!

Spreading the Word about The International Cheese Awards

Here at the International Cheese Awards, we’re lucky to have incredible levels of support from all sorts of people who give their time and enthusiasm in helping the show reach more and more people every year. The local press and radio stations have always been brilliant in their coverage of the show, and we’ve even been known to lure in the nationals - who could forget Chairman Bruce Macdonald parading up and down the cheese aisles on ITN’s News at Ten coverage of this year’s show?

One of the best ways of staying up to date with the show is via our Twitter feed @icheeseawards, which this summer hit a landmark 10,000 followers. Our #ICA2016 hashtag trended during this year’s show (so much so that at one point my phone couldn’t keep up with all the comments and retweets coming in, and had to have a bit of a lie-down), and we’ll be using our new hashtag (the very imaginative #ICA2017) to keep you posted about all the news on next year’s show as it comes in. We also run a brilliant competition every month (look out for one at the end of September to celebrate all our new followers) as well as posting news from the dairy farming community. And as if that wasn’t enough, we have a fledgling account over on Instagram – find us @internationalcheeseawards for lots of great photos from previous shows.

Looking Forward to ICA 2017

It’s never too early to start getting excited for next year’s show – planning is already underway for the 120th International Cheese Awards, which will take place on Tuesday 25th July (Trade, Judging and Press Day) and Wednesday 26th July (Show Day). Write the date in your diaries, and don’t forget there are plenty of ways to contribute to the biggest and best cheese show in the world - for more details about how to get involved as an exhibitor or a sponsor contact adrian@internationalcheeseawards.com, or email Liz at media@internationalcheeseawards.com if you’d like to attend as press.

As ever, thank you in advance for any coverage you are able to give us, and please do follow us on Twitter @icheeseawards for further news and updates!
