International Cheese Awards Press Release September 2014: A Record Breaking Show – and Looking Ahead to 2015!

So, the International Cheese Awards is really all over for another year – but what a show it was! It was a truly record-breaking affair, with 4,455 entries from 26 countries, and in excess of 34,000 visitors on Show Day.

Those two days in July are just the proud culmination of a year’s hard work: the International Cheese Awards is organised and run by a committee of volunteers, who work tirelessly all year round to bring you that splendid cheese marquee. We also couldn’t have done it without the help of a lot of other people, some of whom get a well-deserved mention here!

Some heartfelt thanks…

  • All of the cheese makers and traders who entered the awards or attended the show
  • Our sponsors, who make all of this possible
  • The committee, who worked some VERY long days
  • Our judges, who bravely ate cheese at 9 o’clock in the morning
  • All of the stewards, who so kindly volunteered their time and efforts to keep the show running smoothly
  • Our four celebrity chefs – James Martin, Will Holland, Sean Wilson and Jonathan Harrison - for keeping us so well entertained throughout the day
  • All of the press who attended or wrote about the show
  • Sarah Gayton and her Farmers on Film Project
  • The results team
  • And last but not least, the caterers, who persuaded us to manage a four course lunch even in the midst of all that cheese!

Gearing up for ICA 2015…

It’s never too soon to start looking forward to next year’s show – ICA 2015 will take place on Tuesday 28th July (Trade, Judging and Press Day) and Wednesday 29th July (Show Day). We’re already working on making the 118th show even better than the 117th, so put the date in your diaries now! For more details about how to get involved as an exhibitor or a sponsor contact, or email me at if you’d like to attend as press.

As ever, thank you in advance for any coverage you are able to give us, and please do follow us on Twitter @icheeseawards for further news and updates!
