International Cheese Awards Press Release November 2017: Our Search for the People’s Judge 2018!

Over the last couple of months we’ve heard from both Tim and Louise, who were lucky enough to be the People’s Judges at this year’s International Cheese Awards. They joined us as guest judges, helping our team of more than 250 dairy experts to judge our record-breaking 5685 entries in Nantwich in July, and we’re now on the hunt for a cheese-lover to take their place at ICA2018.

So what’s the idea behind the People’s Judge? Well, we wanted to acknowledge the huge role played by consumers in the dairy industry, and for keen amateurs like Tim and Louise to be able to have their say about the products they prefer and would like to see recognised at the biggest and best cheese show in the world. The International Cheese Awards has a proud tradition of promoting the excellence of our retailers and recognising their achievements, with Waitrose currently holding the title of Supreme Retailer for the amazing haul of 24 Golds across all classes at ICA2017.

It’s not too late for cheese fans to enter our search for this year’s guest judge, with entries open on Twitter (@icheeseawards) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/theinternationalcheeseawards) until December 1st 2017. The winner must be able to get themselves to Nantwich for 8.45am on Tuesday 24th July 2018, but all equipment will be provided and our People’s Judge will be teamed up with a dairy industry expert who will guide them through the whole process of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Our guest judge will then be able to join us for a glass of fizz and a slap-up meal at the Trade Day Lunch, and hear the results announced as they happen. Please help us spread the word about this amazing prize!
