International Cheese Awards Press Release March 2017: New Sponsor for Trade Day Lunch

We’re all on countdown now until the 120th International Cheese Awards takes place in Nantwich on Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th July, so expect lots of exciting news over the next few months. This month, a new sponsor for the legendary Trade Day lunch and a chance to get to know us better via our new LinkedIn profile.

Joseph Heler announced as new sponsors for the UK’s biggest dairy networking lunch

The Trade Day lunch is always one of the highlights of the ICA, with more than 1200 dairy professionals, producers and retailers sitting down to enjoy a glass of fizz, a four-course meal and – of course – await the announcement of this year’s Supreme Champion. We couldn’t do it without the generous support of our sponsors, and we’re delighted to say that the Joseph Heler family dairy will be the proud sponsors of the 2017 International Cheese Awards Trade Day Lunch. They’re the perfect choice - located in Nantwich and cheesemaking since 1957, when the company was founded by Joseph Heler himself, the Nantwich Show and the International Cheese Awards have been at the very heart of the dairy’s heritage over the years. Now a third-generation family business managed by Mike and George Heler - son and grandson of the founder Joseph Heler – the dairy both produces and packs a wide range of cheese for the retail, foodservice and ingredients sectors, serving the UK and exported throughout the world.

Mike Heler told us, “We are delighted and proud to be a sponsor of the 2017 International Cheese Awards and the Trade Day Lunch. Ever since my father, Joseph Heler, founded our company and began making cheese back in 1957, the cheese awards at Nantwich Show have been one of the most important days of the year for the dairy.

With us being so local to the event, based here in Nantwich, it has been amazing to see how much the event has grown over the years. For us it has been - and still is - the greatest show on earth, representing a chance for us to showcase our produce to the world, amongst the world’s best. The honour of winning awards at the show was a great one for my father as a farmhouse cheesemaker - and remains so today for myself, our cheesemakers and everyone working at the dairy.

So as we celebrate our 60-year anniversary, we felt it was a fitting tribute to sponsor and support this great showcase of our industry. We look forward to seeing everyone at the event and welcoming them to the Trade Day Lunch this July.”

The Trade Day lunch takes place on Tuesday 25th July, and if you’d like to attend you’ll be able to book your place via our website shortly.
